The Pretty Images Writers Group (PIWG) is a writing collective created to connect women with a passion for storytelling — writing stories that reflect our culture, history, and lived experiences. This group exists to inspire, motivate, and support writers at all levels in developing their craft and growing as professional industry writers.
Whether you’re an aspiring, intermediate, or experienced writer, PIWG offers a safe and empowering space to create, collaborate, and elevate your storytelling voice — particularly in the realm of screenwriting and visual storytelling.

🎬 Pretty Content Mentorship Program for College Students
The Pretty Content Mentorship Program is a 10-month virtual initiative (March–December 2026) designed for college writers and storytellers who have a passion for developing authentic, female-centered narratives.
Each year, the program selects 7–10 talented students to join a supportive community of creatives, gain mentorship from working professionals, and explore the full process of content creation — from concept to production.
This experience includes two in-person gatherings in Washington, D.C., where mentees have the opportunity to film their content and connect with peers, mentors, and industry leaders.

One-on-One Mentorship:
Each participant is matched with a professional mentor experienced in video, film, and television production to provide personalized guidance toward career and storytelling goals.
Monthly Workshops:
Virtual sessions led by the Founder of PIWG, Dameka “Sarea-Flo” Mack, and guest industry speakers covering essential topics such as:

Licensing, distribution, and standards & practices
Networking & Collaboration:
Mentees connect with working professionals and peers to build relationships, form creative teams, and gain exposure to industry opportunities.

Participants meet monthly for collaborative sessions designed to build accountability, teamwork, and consistent progress.

🎓 Eligibility Requirements

Must be a college student (undergraduate or graduate) enrolled in an accredited institution.

May have previous writing experience; however, submitted scripts must not be in pre-production or previously produced.

Must be available for two in-person sessions in Washington, D.C.

Must focus storytelling on the female voice, exploring diverse and underrepresented perspectives — including but not limited to topics such as:

Friendships & relationships

Health, motherhood, and identity

Racism, sexism, and trauma

Intersectional experiences (race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and more)

Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience or studies in video, film, or television production.
